The night sky on the last night in Cortes Bay.

After a quick trip to Garden Bay in Pender Harbour, we arrived to the Seattle Yacht Club outstation to find it mostly empty but it was not to remain so during our three night stay.

It was a busy outstation with boats of all sizes coming and going all day long.

I was feeling under the weather, so I spent most of the day in bed on the final day and night in Garden Bay. Ed took me to the Madeira Park where a thrift store is located next door. I bought a pair of pants as on nf my pants gave way a the knee and that left me with only one pair of light weight pants. Mean while, Ed did some shopping a the local pharmacy store and the groceries store. He drop me off at the boat, and then toured the harbour with Stever. He was able to ge the dingy up on plane and run the motor at a higher RPM for a while. I didn't eat all day, water and one coca cola which I bough help the dual action Advil I took for my migraine head ache.

Crusing with a fellow SYC Member, they blew by us afte we exited out of Thrurin Channel and a Reserve/Marine Park. Ed and I returning from th thrift store and IGA.

The next morning I felt slightly improved. We left promptly at 700 am. The trip to Deep Cove included a fuel stop at a barge in Indian Arm. As I remained in bed, I had the dogs locked in the state room with me. We continued up Indian Am to Deep Cove, by that time I had crawled out of bed to communcate with our freinds Steve and Herb who were looking at the cove throught eh Kayak Center live WEB cam. They were able to see us enter the cove.

Street Sculpture, the Yacht Club Marina, neat clean street in the shopping district Stever taking a picture of the Yacht Club Marina, tres amigos, eh, the bay is a Paddlers Paradise.

We made our way to the Deep Cove Yacht Club to take advantage of their reciprocal

mooring. Getting to the Yacht Club was a bit precarious because the cove is appropriately nicked name paddlers paradise. There are all manner of people powered water craft... kayaks, SUP, canoes, and self propelled board. addtionally there are small craft that come and go all day long to the public short term pier picking up and dropping off friends and or tourist.

Deep Cove is a small village to the north of North Vancouver. It is a very well kept secret from American yachties. The community offers a large water front park that is well used and as Iwalked the dogs yesterday I noted the wide variety of languages being spoken. about two blocks up the hill from the Yacht Club there are galleries, cafes and restaurants.

We met a gent called Peter, he provided us some insight to the club. He says it is a small club, which is not apparent from the large marina full of sail boats and power boats. very few empty slips and a breakwater pier where we are moored. Unlike most marinas in the US, this marina permits swimming at the breakwater and they yellow painted bull rails indicate the swimming area at the break water. Approach with extreme caution The club house is a neat small building with restrooms on the ground floor and restaurant and bar on the upper floor. The club boast an outstation at the very end of Indian Arm. Indian Arm is the southern most fjord in British Columbia.

Not a long trip tomorrow. We are headed back to near our fuel stop for a coiuople of nights at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club.
