Day of relaxation at Garden Bay

The big event of the day was the birthday for our friend Scott, 52 woo who! He and his crew will go onto Alaska with us but will not be competing in any of the legs. Thanks to the crew of the Blue Span for the birthday cupcakes.
I got up earlier than my normal and, with Stever, took the dogs for a long walk. It is a good thing that traffic is virtually unheard in Garden Bay at this time of the year as Stever and I walked down the middle of the road doing the "avoid leash entanglement dance" while the dogs explored the road sides and the hills.
After a breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon, some of the crew did laundry. I and the dogs took a long nap. Ed worked on the charting of our competition.

Ed, Stever and Lynne went to the IGA for more shopping. While they were gone, I entered the course out of the Harbor to the start of the Squirrel Cove leg of the competition. I also plotted a course to the Cortes Out Station from Sarah Point and back. We will take a time out overnight while we stretch our legs at the Cortes Out Station and rest up from resting today and competing tomorrow.
The guys brought back Tuna Steaks for dinner with the last of the potato salad and a fresh salad of romain lettuce, fresh vine tomatoes, sliced zucchine and mini bell peppers. They generously said that the Tuna Steak was good, I felt I over cooked a little...okay a lot. The rest of the goodies purchased were stored away for use at a later date.
Now it is time for bed but first this blog. I hope you had a great relaxing day. Enjoy the pictures.
