Laid back in Eagle Harbor
Laid back in Eagle Harbor

We departed from Kitsap Marina for Eagle Harbor via the Port Orchard Marina fuel dock.

We dodged the Seattle Bremerton and Kitsap Foot ferry as we approched Rich Passage. Rounded the bouy at the south east end of Bainbridge, ducked in behind Blakey Rock. We dodged the Bainbridge to Seattle Ferry as we entered Eagle Harbor.

We arrived to Eagle Harbor in time for lunch but first, get lines on the cleats and the power connected. Once the boat is snug, lunch and then off to explore.

Ed, Jim, and I walked to the Seattle Yacht Club (SYC) Eagle Harbor moorage, checked-in and took a photo. As part of our journey to Alaska we intend to visit each of the Seattle Yacht Club Outstations. The outstations are either owned by the Club or leased for the exclusive use of SYC members and their guest. New Members are encouraged to Participate in the Outstation Grand Tour, the OGT. We have already visited 5 of the 10 Outstations and will complete the OGT by Labor Day.

The pooches are doing well. We have a lot of help walking them, thanks Stever, Jim, Ed. They are confined to a relatively small space compared to the house and yard they are used to. Dusty doesn't much like the sound and vibrations of the engines so, she gets a mild sedative and seems to calm down. I hope to wean her off by the time we get to AK.

We wrapped up the day with other members of the fleet for a pot luck steak fry and fellowship. We regaled each other with stories of our adventures and misadventures. We will meet up with them in Deer Harbor.

Tomorrow will be a long day, 80 miles in approximately 10 hours including a predicted log competition.
