Khutze Inlet
Khutze Inlet

Yesterday we arrived to Khutze Inlet and motored about looking for the best place to anchor and not finding any we rafted to Blue Span. Overnight it seemed the anchor dragged. We were oblivious. Tommy stood watch all night long to keep an eye out for draggiing. We did not drag. Could it have been chain dragging over the sea bed in the shift of current? We won't know as we didn't set an anchor watch. My lesson today was learning how to set an anchor watch.

We had heard that the was a group of folk on SEA DOO's that are going from Seattle to Juneau in one week. Can you imagine on week in a dry suit on the high seas and channels with BC Ferries, pleasure craft and fishing boats of all types? The idea of going to Alaska on a SEA DOO seems daunting to me.

While in Shear Water, I had the opportunity to talk to a member of another group of travellers who are in Grand Banks and are going to Ketchican.

As we approached the start of Leg Four of tha AK 2025 ICR we flew by the Grand Banks group. We did our predicted log, hoping to not have a time out as it appeared that a large barge being pushed toward Prince Rupert was heading for the same mark as us. He yeilded the water to us so we finished the race with no time outs.

Our companion boat, Bluespan had made arrangement for us at the Prince Rupert Rowing and Yacht Club to moor at a very reasonable rate, right next to Cow Bay who could not accomodate us inside their break water.

The PRRYC staff met us on the dock and expertly handled our lines. We ended up stern to stern with Bluespan. Stever and I took the dogs for a much needed walk. when we got back to the PRRYC office, I joined the rest of the crew to get signed in and the code to the gate among other things! Gerrad, the office manager was kind enough to not contradict me when I miss labled the Pub next door. I'll apologize tomorrow or when I next see him. He is correct the pub is Breakers Pub NOT Breakfast Pub.

When I returned to the boat, I heard a boater in the next fairway over state that the SEA DOOs were in port, at about the same time the Grand Banks Groiup was pulling in.

The Sea Doo travelers and the Grand Banks travelers.

The following are some of the sights we saw and images shared by other in our flotilla.

A raft of Sea Otter, Snow capped moutain Range, art work on buildings in Prince Rupert.

Ed and I took a short walk through town. We found a hardware/building supply business. If thery aren't open then it is off to Walmart to look for some items for a project he is doing.

I think i over ate, but then, I usually do.

We will hang out at the PRRRYC marina and Prince Rupert for the next 5 days or so before making for Alaska.

Happy Pride month. On this walk there is room for all stripes.
