Welcome back!

We took off from Garden Bay Seattle Yacht Club Outstation headed to Cortes or the second leg of the competition leg to Squirrel Cove. The scenery is beautiful along the way especially when we entered the narrow Thulin Passage. At times we were with two boat lengths of the walls of the passage, cruising along at a sedate pace of 7.3 knots. We won't do well this first part of the leg as we couldn't figure out how to change the speed on the spread sheet for this segment of the leg, but it was beautiful.

Did you watch UP? Remember the Golden Retriever that wore the dog language translator...Squirrel!

After arriving at the Seattle Yacht Club Out Station at Cortes and were made fast to the pier, power hooked up, Stever and I went to our obligatory walk as demanded by the Girls. There were plenty of Squirrels to keep the dogs nose busy and us racing to keep our balance.

We decided to remain in stay at the Outstation for the next two days. Long walks being towed towed by the dogs chasing squirrels. Laundry, Hot showers, Hot breakfast and Yummy meals... also the power outage that affected the entire community.

Stever and I put in a lot of steps, over 10 k... not bad for two bad backs! Through rugged forest, up steep hills and trying to keep the dogs from running off the cliffs.

This morning we cast off to do the final portion of the second leg of the Squirrel Cove leg of the ICR. We are now anchored in Squirrel Cove. We will pot luck tonight and see how good or bad we did on leg two of the contest.
